Disable default context menus - Problem

I have enabled "Remove Windows Explorers default context menu" in a GPO that effects all the students in the school.

 

This has done the job of stopping them right clicking on the desktop, but it has also disabled the ability of right clicking in, for example, their home folder and creating a new folder etc.

 

How can I stop them right clicking on the desktop , yet allow them to right click in folders and create new documents, folders etc.

 

Workstations are a mix of Win7 and XP pro.

Why dont you want them to right click on the desktop?

 

Are you trying to prohibit access to display properties?

You could get them to press ALT in Windows Explorer and then a bar will come up at the top where they can press file --> new --> file, folder etc..

Hi All,

I need to stop the students messing around with the setting, but still allow them to right click and select items such as "New Document", "New Folder" etc. They cant access most of the items in the menu, but I need to prohibit access to the following when right clicked from the desktop.....

 

View or at least "Show Desktop Icons" sub menu

 

All the rest have been disabled by GPO. How to I stop access to the view menu and sub menus??

I've got our Context Menu completely disabled for students....there's a multitude of ways they can do what they NEED to do without the context menu, and the things they don't NEED to do, well, they don't NEED to do them....End Of.
