Disease Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Hi, I keep having a recurring problem with some group policy objects that I have created on Server 2003. They seem to work fine and then after an ramdom amount of time I am unable to edit certain parts of them just getting the message `Access Denied'. I able to a edit say Internet Explorer Maintenance and add in a URL, click apply and it applies fine. Move to something like system in administrative templates and change something, click apply and I get Access denied. Anyone have any ideas why this maybe happening as it becomes a bit boring having to re-create an entire GPO judt to make a single change. Thanks
Gibbo Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Try DFSUTIL /PURGEMUPCACHE GPUPDATE /FORCE I get the same error a while after I've rebooted my 2003 server. But running this sorts it. 1
Disease Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 Thanks I have tried that, still throws up access denied when trying to edit specific parts.
Duke5A Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Are you logged on as a domain admin? Are there multiple DCs at the site? It could have something to do with replication if you're able to create and edit to your heart's content, but are having problems going back to it after it has replicated. Check the Delegation tab in GP edit on a policy you're having trouble with and ensure you have the correct permissions.
