merlinpjl Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I am looking for a system to give similar functionality to the Net Support offering. Having just had a telephone quote for the software, it is too expensive for us. Is anyone aware of any alternative and less expensive products. We want to be able to lock screens, display user screens on the IWB, broadcast user screens to the rest of a class, shutdown a PC etc....... Comments and suggestions please......
Dos_Box Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Did you haggle? NetSupport is very good, and is worth your persevering to drive a good price.
p858snake Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I'm aware of LanSchool and ABtutor, But I haven't used them.
Hightower Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Does nobody use search facilities any more?! http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/42399-netsupport-alternatives.html http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/6797-open-source-alternative-net-support-school.html http://www.edugeek.net/forums/network-classroom-management/52194-netsupport-school-other.html To name but a few
merlinpjl Posted May 11, 2011 Author Posted May 11, 2011 Thanks to all who have replied, I will have a look at those. Hightower - I guess that using a search facility would have given me a list of software packages but asking for advice, on a forum, from experts in the field who have used the software is my preference.
Hightower Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 but asking for advice, on a forum The only advice you have asked for is this: Is anyone aware of any alternative and less expensive products. Which a quick search, and the links in my post answered - or was there something you were after that I missed like this bit of text hidden
Soulfish Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I'd advise haggling with Netsupport. It's a good product, and I know they're always willing to do a deal
round2it Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 i moved to lanschool as i got 2 classrooms of 30 pcs for about 250 quid (migration pricing) netsupport are just stupid money now
