oalcock Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hello, Emagine I have machine A and machine B in front of me. I need to add the same network printer to both using the same driver, and the same connection method via the HP Printer hostname. I install the driver on both in identical ways and they both look the same, print the same just as expected. Both PCs are the same operating system and were given the same image when the machines were installed. Machine A - Can print double sided. Machine B - double sided option greyed out. I have tried copying accross the drivers from machine A to machine B but doesn't change anything. Can anybody shed light on this as it is driving me MAD!
penfold Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 What are the options on the print server? If you have checked all the settings and they look right, you may need to uninstall the driver and reinstall. I think HP used to do a driver remove tool which I've used in the past when I had problems installing one of their printers. It was a few years back now though so I'm not sure if it is still relevant. It basically removed the instances of the HP Driver so you could do a fresh install, maybe try this? 1
oalcock Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Tried totally removing the driver and installing it again, doesn't sort anything I am afraid. Thanks anyway though.
LeMarchand Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Are you logged on as the same user and do both machines belong to the same groups/OUs? 1
oalcock Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Yes, they both have identical permissions! It's even when I am logged in on both though.
