Help - SD Card

My digital camera has played up and I have lost my photos on my SD Card, I have scanned it using some recovery software and can see them but it wants money to recover them. Does anyone know any free software to do this?

Recuva or PhotoREC (which is part of test disk)

This should be obvious but dont recover your photos to the SD card that is playing up.

I tried Recva and some other software, they could either see the lost data or couldn't and the ones that could wanted to charge me.

 

After a few phone calls this afternoon a contact of mine suggested I try a shop in town, took it in at 3pm and he's just called me back saying he's got them all and will burn them to disk for me tomorrow. Life saver, I can live with loosing one image out of 500!!

I haven't Ben as I had gone out when you posted.

 

If the card hasn't been wiped I will see if it works when I get it back tomorrow.

PhotoRec has worked, just set it running.

 

Oh well, £15 down the drain but saved my stress levels!!

Ok well now you know of a good tool for photo recovery for future use

 

I deleted everything from a school memory card the other week and then someone immediately wanted one of the pictures, photorec to the rescue

Just be wary of that SD card now when using it again it may have been more of a fault to do with the card than the camera but all in all just to be on the safe side purchase a new SD card to be safe. If you haven't maybe check to see if theres a firmware update for the camera in question too might be some fixes for that model.
