FOG v PING v Clonezilla v other - let battle commence!

Thinking of re-using an older server as an image server and using one of the above to dish out the images. I use a live Clonezilla disk fairly frequently, but like the idea of Fog's GUI. The school currently uses Ghost, but it's version 8 and no-one will stump up for a newer version.

 

Anybody used any of the above (or any other FREE cloning solution) and can recommend one over the other?

 

Would go for ease of use/setup over features (being a bear of very little brain). Will be cloning XP machines and Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit).

We're using WDS on our new network, and so far had no problems with it. Also used FOG before, and that was a doddle to setup/use too. Sole reason we're sticking with WDS is because I like the thought of having all the major jobs on one beefy server (OS deployment, WSUS etc) rather than having a server for this, and a server for that - plus it does work well

I would go for FOG - Once set up it's a joy to use. The set up itself is quite straightforward too these days. Plus it can be used for so much more than imaging.

Conezilla comes in handy for the odd hard drive cloning.

I'm pretty sure that FOG uses ping?

Ghost - Too expensive.

Forgot about WDS - never used it due to the servers at most of my schools being ancient. Probably worth looking at for the ones with newer servers, though.
