Sunderwood Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Hi, We give every student a laptop here that they use for the duration of their career with us. We are currently identifying which laptop to purchase for next year as the ones we currently have aren't suitable. Does anyone else provide students with a laptop and if so what make/model are they? If not does anyone know of a laptop 13.3" screen that has at least a 6 hour battery? Thanks in advance
FN-GM Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 How much are you looking to spend on each? Personally i am not a fan of Toshiba. The build quality recently hasn't been good at all.
Sunderwood Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 Well we brought the Acer Travelmate 8371 this year which were £375 a unit excl VAT but we are finding that the build quality on them is too a little poor.
FN-GM Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 They all seem to be doing down this path. Dell are another that have been like this. HP / Compaq seems to be ok. We got some Compaq 620 laptops and they are a pretty good build.
mjs_mjs Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 my Samsung nc10 has been solid for 2 years now - i imagine it would last the time.
Arthur Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 does anyone know of a laptop 13.3" screen that has at least a 6 hour battery? Lenovo's Thinkpad X220 lasts for eight hours with the standard 63Wh six-cell battery which is quite impressive.
Cache Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I'm quite impressed with Samsung at the moment for the last couple I've bought.
