Fizzbook upgrade to XP Pro problem

I'm trying to upgrade a fizzbook spin to XP Pro. I can start the upgrade / install of from within XP home, however when the fizzbook reboots it fails to read the cd/dvd (a disk read error occurred). We are using an external USB DVD drive.

 

If I use F11 and boot from the external dvd, the fizzbook sees the device, but then errors with 'Operating System not found'

 

We used this disk & device to upgrade a samsung netbook without a problem. Have tried a few different installation media and a couple of drives but the problem persists.

how aboutinstalling it via mdt/wds takes the cd rom drive out of the equation

Install XP from USB - reboot.pro

----USB_MultiBoot.cmd - Install XP from USB-----
