Great quote in today's Education Guardian

Ian McKellen takes his gay tour to schools, and one pupil says,

 

"We Googled you yesterday... Sir Ian. We were well surprised when we found out you were gay, because you're nothing like Alan Carr!"

the power of Google, top results then is his sexuality not his outstanding commitment to drama and theatre arts across the UK for the last goodness knows how many years ! As for Alan Carr! AARGH that stereotype that all gay men are just like him, not every gay bloke is just like Alan Carr! A good mate of mine isn't like him, he's a 6ft 4 rugby player and you wouldn't dare say he was camp or you could end up spending your life in a wheel chair!

That's why I like the quote. It's humorous but also makes the valid point that not all gay men are like Alan Carr, and it would be sad if the preconceptions of what being gay mean to some of the pupils of this school were replicated throughout the country.
