Hi all,

Please don't shout at me for this as I know there are alot of threads regarding Asset Management, but I can't find anything specific for my needs.

I am after an open source asset management solution that will work on windows, as I have no linux knowledge at all and prefereably web based.

I have got an old Windows 2003 server and I have put on a help desk (Web Help Desk), room booking system (Devizes) and I just now need an asset management software as this has fallen by the way side recently.

Printer consumables tracking would be a bonus.

I have tried Spiceworks and I just feel thats a little overkill for what I need. We aren't a big school around 200 pc's and laptops.

OCS/GLPI - As I said I have no linux knowledge at all, plus I would like to keep everything together on the old server.

Again sorry for repeating a thread. I know I am probably asking too much.

Thanks Domino ill look at that.

Is anyone using OCS with a RM CC3 network and I wondered if it was possible to package build the agent and deploy it within CC3?

Thanks

Sadams - I have GLPI and OCS running on an old Windows 2003 server. It was a little fiddly to setup but works an absolute treat. GLPI pulls the data seamlessly from OCS and populates it. OCS Client works brilliantly and I have my whole network imported into it.

Mine runs on an old Dell PE 2650 with 2 Gig RAM and it's plenty fast enough - no-one has complained anyway!

This looks like a nightmare read but once you start it's quite easy and mostly all common sense!
