kurleyuk Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Help please guys. I have a Sanyo PLC-XE33 projector which shuts the lamp down after 15 seconds. The bulb is well within its life. Any suggestions will be most welcome.
Ulkary Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) Might be related to the terminal switch? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/43060-sanyo-xe-40-problems.html http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/49521-sanyo-xe-40-a.html Edited April 4, 2011 by Ulkary
Chris_ Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 We had a similar issue with an XE33, stayed on for longer than 15 seconds (about 15 minutes). Turned out to be a fan issue. Sanyo are aware of this problem so replaced the fans under warranty. 1
kurleyuk Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 Thanks guys. I will have a look at what you suggest.
philwaterhouse Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Sounds like an overheating issue. These projectors are designed to switch of when too hot. Have you changed/cleaned the filters? This could help you. An earlier suggestion was to speak to Sanyo. Most of the Sanyo projectors sold in the UK have an on-site warranty so you should have no problems, providing it is no older than 3 years old. Hope this helps.
Marc-Engineer Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 It sounds like a faulty lamp have you tried another, yes your lamp may be new but have you tried another. if that does not sort it , it may be faulty ballest unit. let me know when you try a new lamp. Marc Projector Engineer
TechSupp Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Had similar issue with another Sanyo, sent away and it turned out to be a bulb fault although it lit and was within expected life hours. Bit costly to just get a bulb and try, pity no other way to test.
Marc-Engineer Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Just try a lamp from another projector? (same model of course). Marc Projector Engineer
