bart21 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Hi, anyone know of any free remote access software to allow staff to get into our terminal services. Something like adito would be good, preferably free.
Zenden Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 ts gateway! I Second this, its easy to setup and runs over https so you only have to allow 443 through your firewall. also very easy to configure the client access. i have it set to only allow connections from Computers which are a member of my "TSClients" group and users from my "TerminalUsers" group so its quite easy to control who is getting into it. Give it a try, it is really easy
glennda Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Adito/Open VPN-ALS (same thing) Runs on a linux box and connects using a built in java client which it launches does it all over ssl been using here for 2 + years EDIT: plus you can use it for remote access to network drives for students. Just re-read and seen you've looked at it any reason why not using it?
bart21 Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 @glennda when i looked at this i remen=mber the RDP client would only go to an ip address not a DNS name. I want to implement a DNS round robin with the TS's in to kinda load balance. nick

glennda Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 resolve.conf my bad its the hosts file not to self don't post while drunk! 1

Try putting the dns names of the dc in the hosts file - thats what i've had to do as it doesn't look them up properly.
