Fatmas Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 So that's it then, after coming out of Uni and getting my first 'real' job back in July 2009, I'm moving on to a non-education based position. I've very much enjoyed working in a school, the work and the people make it all worth while. However with budget cuts and the fact I'm fairly young (23), I feel it's time to take the next step. So on 18th April I will be starting a new job with an Engineering Company based in Oxfordshire. I will be staying on the forums though as the advice just can't be beat! Thanks for the help so far guys and girls, I'm sure I'll be asking for it again in the future.
gl3nnym Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Well done and congratulations! I have been trying to move to non-educational too but alas, no luck so far. 1
Fatmas Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 Good Luck - what will you be doing? I'm an IT Support Engineer so very similar to what I do now. However they are a small (ish) company so have a very small network. They are growing quite rapidly however which makes it a good time to become involved with it. I think they have around 80-90 engineers with laptops based off site and about 15 admin staff on site. Engineers come back when their laptops go kaput. They have just placed 15th in the Times 100 best companies to work for (Small Companies section).
