Don't worry, Bernie will have the BBC Executives on a fact finding mission to Monaco and suddenly the F1 coverage will be 'an important part of BBC's sports coverage'.

I have already made my complaint, saw this on PlanetF1. There is so many things on the BBC which I find total rubbish and many other sports like Golf which I dont know anyone who watches it.

Surely F1 has become much more popular, I remember when it was rarely in the news.

I hope this doesn't happen. It'd be a shame to have F1 coverage interrupted by adverts if it had to be moved to another network. If it went on SkySports then I'd be gutted because I don't have that package. I'd also be gutted if it was aired on Eurosport because Eurosport is utter tripe and their MotoGP commentators do my head in.

 

Fingers crossed that someone sees sense.

please no its bad enough i have to use t'internet for wrc and aussie v8's if that and btcc move to $ky i might have toactually stump up the £30+ a moth for the few progs i do watch grrrrrrrrrr i hate paying for tv i wouldnt mind so much if it wasnt for the sheer amount of adverts you also pay to watch

I would rather watch over 80's indoor curling myself - about as interesting - though I heard someone did overtake once :-)

The BBC do some cool programming, but a lot is complete guff. I now no longer watch cricket as it is not on the BBC, not interested in adverts or having a dish on the side of my house. I would do away with the football based programmes in exchange for F1 any day of the week. However, I am sure I will just stop watching F1 and what little tennis there is on, my children will no longer be inspired to be sports people (they run around the house pretending to be Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton on an F1 weekend) and be inspired to be Katie Price clones instead.

 

Why is watching people do sport badly, like strictly come dancing, more popular than people doing it well, like cricket, f1, rugby, cycling. I will never understand people.

Which lets face it, Strictly Come Dancing costs them what exactly? They probably pay the Judges/hosts/Trainers, if I remember rightly the stars go on that show get paid nout? and I am sure that it costs no where near 40Mil to have that show on. Probably wouldnt cost them that for 10 years...

You can't base what sports the BBC shows by how much news it receives.

You're right there, but then I feel as if the public cares enough about some thing it will be in the news and F1 has been more in the news since 2007 then I ever remember. I am sure more viewers watch the likes of F1 over Golf.

As X Factor receives insane amount of news because lets face it... its what the public love. That's why I would always have in my mind "If its news its what the public care about". So thats my view on that but then as most things thats my opinion, as like most opinions wouldnt change either.

Wimbledon is on the protected sporting events list thankfully, so even if the BBC did abandon it, it would have to be shown FTA *somewhere*

As for F1, I'm not a huge fan, but I don't hate it. Would prefer it to be on the BBC to ITV

Can I just say I have spoke to a friend of mine that I will call Person x on the camera crew of the f1 and they told me that they have heard nothing like that but did say that they might not be rolling out f1 in hd for a while if at all due to the track cameras not being compatible and so they might abandon this idea altogether but that's all he would say. I love F1 and if anything would happen (adverts) it would kill that sport. Yes it is expensive and a big boys toys game and basically throwing money away but look at the good that has come from the sport (abs breaking impact bars.) just to mention a few. this has all come from the development of f1 cars there are a few more but cant remember of the top of my head.
