Missing DLL

Does anyone know where I can get dll's from? I missing bdxdpl.dll for an XP Home PC.

bdxdpl.dll doesn't appear to be a standard Windows file from what I can tell. I couldn't find it when I searched for it on one of my XP VMs and Google has nothing.

Google's not heard of that filename, removing the .dll leads us to some Blu Ray stuff, is this what you're after?

 

I wouldn't recommend downloading dll's from the internet and using them as you cannot be sure where they originated.

 

Normally you're better finding the software download that includes the dll and installing that.

However if it's windows dll, extract from original CD.

Could it be some sort of malware, especially with a random name like bdxdpl.dll?

As mentioned above it could be malware/spyware that has been removed by AV but is still trying to load when the computer boots up.

As members have mentioned, may be spyware/malware. What you should do is run a cleanup of of malware/spyware using an appropoiate utility. I do remember having a similar issue with a PC, after running the cleaner all worked fine.

 

Try GlaryRegistryRepair.

I did a malware scan but it found nothing. It did have a trojan which i deleted succussfully but that deleted the missing file. In the end I formatted the drive.

On a seperate note, I'm not having issues with the sound drivers. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8SIMLNF. I though the audio drivers were the Realtek AC97 but when halfway through the install the PC restarts. Any idea's?

It makes it a bit tricky to find drivers for the GA-8SIMLNF as it appears to be an OEM board used by HP. This is why it doesn't appear on Gigabyte's website.

 

If you go to Device Manager, right click the Sound Card and choose 'Properties'. Click the 'Details' tab, and make a note of the ID Value. It should read something like PCI\VEN_8086... If you search for this in a search engine, you may be able to identify what it is.

 

You could also try Windows Update as this also (occasionally) recommends driver updates for your hardware.

I've sorted it now, so thanks all. Found an ancient gigabyte cd.
