Can anybody who has support direct with Capita for SIMS tell me roughly how much they pay. Just want to compare a rough price against LEA cost, other threads never seem to give any £££££

I never publish the figures on here as it is easy to get a quote from Capita.

All I will say is that for the past two years we have been paying Capita less than what we would have been charged by the LA.

Next year we will be paying slightly more.

The reason for this is that we were below 1,000 NOR for the past two years but we have now moved back to just over 1,000 NOR and so have moved into the higher bracket from April 1st.

Well I found the Capita support costs cheaper but then LA said we would need to pay for Sims licences if we pulled out of LA support and they cost more then the support itself. Sounds a bit odd but I did phone Capita and was told the LA does purchase a licence on behalf of the schools. So we are stuck.

It depends on school size, how you're licensed, and what modules you have.

We are 1500+ students, independent international, with lesson monitor, NovaT, curriculum & lesson planner, FMS, and we're at over £10k p.a.

@Edu-IT - contact Capita (in Bedford i guess) and ask.

Also look at the cost of training. Your LA team might be subsidising / discounting these cost as they deliver it rather than at a Capita base. Whilst you might save on the support when you add up the difference in the extra cost on training courses it could work out more.
