Hello guys

Been a real wally tonight and accidentally applied too much pressure to my Thinkpad T60 (yep, you guessed it, I trod on it!). So,

Is it possible for a novice to fit a new one? If yes, can you recommend a decent supplier? If no, can you recommend somewhere that will do the job for me?

A seriously pi**ed off James.

Hi James.

Sorry to hear about your little accident :) let's get you sorted!

You can get a screen of eBay: FOR IBM LENOVO THINKPAD T60P 15.4" LAPTOP LCD SCREEN on eBay (end time 11-Mar-11 11:16:17 GMT)

NEW LENOVA THINKPAD T60 15.4" WXGA LCD SCREEN on eBay (end time 22-Mar-11 11:23:48 GMT)

CHEAP IBM THINKPAD T60 15" SCREEN LTN150XG-L08 on eBay (end time 11-Mar-11 20:12:58 GMT)

Instructions on how to replace the screen will be in the hardware manual:

Lenovo Support - Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad T60/p (1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2613, 2623, 2637)

or/

Lenovo Support - Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad T60, T60p (6369, 6370, 6371, 6372, 8741, 8742, 8743, 8744) Wide screen models

depending on what model you have exactly

I hope that helps,

James.

P.S. you may be able to get screen's a bit cheaper, there are some others on eBay second hand from broken laptops.

They are easy to change. Best way is to get a whole new lid and then it's a 5 minute job...otherwise it will take about 30 minutes because of the faffing about with bits of plastic and fiddly little screws. We have had to 'fix' several X60 screens :(

ICT Direct or Fleabay are your friends for the parts.
