6Foot2 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 We have a couple of HP colour inkjets where the power LED goes out within a second of being switched on. One printer started doing this after a print job went wrong and the printer was restarted mid print job. The other, it seems, started doing it spontaneously. Anyone else cured this? I don't want to throw away two printers which might be salvageable. Thanks in advance.
Geoff Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Dead resistor in the power supply. More info here: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/22361 It's a common fault.
6Foot2 Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 Through sterling work by my technicians we have found that the fault actually lay with the 'back door' latch. It was not sitting properly in either printer. We have now taken the back doors out and replaced them FIRMLY. Result: Two working printers. Yahoo!
john Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Must admit thats the most common thing on HPs, the back doors not being engaged fully and them not staying on because of it.
