azc Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Watching my email server today I noticed some emails unable to be delivered to a btinternet.co.uk address. I did some researching and it appears to me that btinternet.co.uk has no MX record. I tried the same email address at btinternet.com and it came back and said the recipient didn't exist at that domain. So either the user has got the email address very wrong, or someone at BT/Yahoo has slipped up and lost the MX record.
AngryTechnician Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 As incompetent as BT Internet can be sometimes, I think they've got the email address wrong, personally. Had a quick check on our MIS; we have nearly 1,500 contact email addresses, and absolutely no-one with an @btinternet.co.uk address. We do have 131 with an @btinternet.com address.
pete Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 ^ That. .co.uk hasn't had an MX record for ages and simply forwards to yahoo. Anyone sending mail to .co.uk is a muppet.
