Hightower Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Can anybody recommend some free software to repair a powerpoint file?
rush_tech Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Have you had a go and the open and repair feature of powerpoint?
thepineapplehead Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 What's wrong with it? What's it doing or not doing? I had a borked Doc file, open and repair didn't do anything. I tried the open text from file command, at least managed to get the contents of the file. How to recover text from any files by using the "Recover Text from Any File" converter of Word I don't know whether PP has something similar?
sonofsanta Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Does PP leave tmp files littered everywhere like Word does? More often than not they're how I save borked documents for users.
bossman Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 @Hightower: Its usually a picture that has been inserted into the PPT which becomes corrupted. How big is the file and can you send it to me? Will have a go at recovering (many hands make light work) You have my e-mail address? If not PM me
mac_shinobi Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 what about the open office version of power point ??
LiamH Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 fixed a couple by changing the file extension to .pps(x) corrupted powerpoints can be a pain though
