Odd Printer Issue - Blank PDF pages

Recommended Posts

We have a number of apparently identical computers (HP Deskjet 6940 for what it's worth), however they are behaving differently - the specific problem is that if you print a PDF file to it, it spools a sheet into the printer and then stops, when you next send something to print, it pushes the first sheet out, blank, and then prints the second document.

This problem has been identified on at least two of the printers, at least one is unaffected. They are set up in the same way, delivered in the same way, have the same drivers and firmware version. Administrative users are affected as well, not just teacher or pupil accounts. Where else should I look to see what is causing this?

Who created the pdf and in what program? I suspect Quark.

Flipping the print processor to winprint is the usual fix (Printer > Properties > Advanced tab > Print Processor)

All sorts of PDFs from lots of different sources (doesn't mean they weren't all Quarked though)

Ooh, good spot. The working one isn't one WinPrint but it is on a different processor than the non-working ones. I'll change that and try again...
