JPS Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I used to work with someone called Richard Head. My history teacher at school had a brother called Richard Head and he told us that he had to explain to his parents why this wasnt a great name!

tech_guy Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 For an open evening I once got lumbered with the job of making the ID badges for all the school staff. Nothing fancy, just the school logo, and under their names was their job role and the department they were in. The next morning I had a delegation of Teaching Assistants from the Art department visit me because (and I genuinely hadn't noticed this) of the fact that their badges read "TA ARTS"..... ...they hadn't noticed either until some bright spark parent pointed it out during the evening...!
LiamH Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 We had the staff phone list go out a few years ago with assistant heads shortened to "ass heads"... a revised version was sent out quite quickly.
korifugi Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I have a teacher called Tim Watts, not very funny you say. Well our username policy made him TWatts, we soon changed him to TJWatts I remember once I had to assist a Headteacher sending out an attachement to someone at OFSTED with the same email address (the pre-change version)... They hadn't noticed until I stated that it was an 'unfortunate' email address...
witch Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 My son has a friend whose mother got married and wanted the lad to take his new stepfather's name - it wasnt that he didnt like the man, he just didnt want to be TWitt. I used to know a businessman called James Balls who used to answer the phone by barking 'Balls' when he lifted the receiver.
TechMonkey Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Havent you been listening to Radio 1 the last 2 weeks. Toby Lerone Arther Eight Karen Mill Taffy Crisp Mike Ox Long Annette Curtain That was a Radio 1 invasion. They've been popping up all over the place. Highly amusing especially when the presenter finally catches on. My dad was in court when a Mr Richard Head was in trouble. After announcing where he found the defendant the judge stopped the officer speaking and had a massive rant at him over the disrespect shown, how it was indescribable how an officer could act this way, until the defendants lawyer stopped him and informed him that the defendant commonly used the shortened version of his him as shown in the file. The judge checked the file, mumbled an apology and suggested maybe his full name should be used. The judge never really lived it down apparently.
