sonofsanta Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 BBC News - Robots to get their own internet As if we weren't developing terrifying enough robots already, as if it wasn't stupid enough naming our military satellite network SkyNET, now we're giving the robots their own damned Internet so they can talk behind our backs and call us fat and stuff. I just have images of trying to run down the street, away from an insane robot attacking me, but there's nowhere to hide, no alley dark enough, because from every window there's a hoover watching you, or a microwave, or a fridge, and they're all telling the whole world exactly where to find you...
aerospacemango Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I'd like to think that SOMEWHERE there is a BotGeek forum where all the robots are complaining about how they are treated by their humans! "Hey....today, mine stuffed more bread in me....got me really heated up, and before I knew it, I was spewing out bread from all 4 of my slots" Toaster-TK421 It COULD happen!
korifugi Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 The blogs could be even better... Sigh, yet another day spent looking for youtube videos and pictures of cute kittens. Seriously - my user will never get a job at this rate...

LosOjos Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I read about this yesterday, and one question was stuck in my head: what domestic robots? Where are all these robots capable of learning?

Where are all these robots capable of learning? Ummmmm....Does this mean you don't have one already? Mine has breakfast ready for me each and every morning. Supper is on the table for when I walk in the door. Only problem is, now they have their own internet, he's hoovering up all the bandwidth....and trust me, with only 256k, it's a real pain! Gonna have to reset to factory default before the weekend! 1

Where are all these robots capable of learning? They know you're looking for them. One got caught once and it told the rest and now they all hide, and watch, and plan. 1
