Are there any schools out there that have recently gone from Promethean to Smart and have some old Pens lying around? I have come to the end of my supply (i have nibs) of working pens and have no money left! Anyone?
Hightower Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 One thing that always annoyed me about Promethean was that you needed a pen, whereas smart allows you to use a broom shank if you so desired. Anyhow, our Prometheans are still used so no donations available from us I'm afraid

AJRussell Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 we bought a pack of 5 a while ago and it workout at about £10 each. did some searching and found the following from google Promethean Activpen (5 pack) Primary/Studio we inform staff that if they go missing, then they have to pay for them out of their budgets. this has worked and none have gone missing since. for smartboards i find that a post-it note is good to cover the sensors. remove it and draw to your heart content.

A lot of our teachers have replaced their smart board pens here with dry wipe markers. If they need to write on the 'proper' whiteboard they can quickly grab a dry wipe pen. If they want to use the IWB they pull the smart pen from the locked drawer and remove the dry wipe from which ever colour they need. Works well, never had a mishap where a teacher has used the dry wipe on the IWB, and when a pen goes missing they simply replace it with a cheap dry wipe.

Little-Miss Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 I emailed that last one and never got a response. We dont have a credit card and im not rich enough to buy them myself and wait for the money back. SOO frustrating! I may have to go with the £7 and claim the money back.
