pete Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I have one to make it launch cleanly as an unprivileged user, but I can't make it close cleanly. (Yes, I know it's not supported on Win 7)
mounters Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 @pete How did you get it to launch as a standard user? Ta
pete Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) On a test Win7 machine: Install the Application Compatibility Toolkit from Microsoft. Install Sibelius 4, patch if appropriate and launch it once as an admin (probably unnecessary, but I do it just so I know it works) Launch Compatibility Administrator, 32bit in my case. Create a new database, if it doesn't open an untitled one by default. Right-click database - Create New - Application Fix. Fill in the appropriate fields, browse to the Sibelius 4 executable, Next Under "Additional compatibility modes" tick "RunAsInvoker". Next > Next > Finish. Now save your database as an .sdb file (it's the default). Say sib4fix.sdb On another test win7 machine with Sibelius installed, open up an elevated command prompt and use: sdbinst \\path\to\sib4fix.sdb Then log out and run Sibelius 4 as a normal (student) user. It'll load fine, but won't close cleanly. Attached (rename to .sdb) is a compatibility database that Works For Me . Sib4fix-rename-to-dot-sdb.txt Edited February 7, 2011 by pete
