Small CCTV system advice

We're looking for a standalone CCTV system to cover a small area. HT wants 4 cameras with 3 of these cameras recording sound.

 

Site manager has trawled the web and found this > Home > CCTV > Complete Systems > For Business > Mid Range CCTV System - 4 dome camera, high resolution and 2TB

 

Any thoughts on this system? I suppose for the price its ok but is the spec any good?

I would recommend the following:

 

Network Storage: QNAP Security - Network Surveillance Solution Provider < Have a Look at those boxes, they come for Surveillance.

IP Camera's: Any IP Camera will work with above software and storage.

 

Nice Easy and actually quite robust solution.

Thanks. Not really thought of using IP cameras because of the lack of network in the area which would add to the cost.

How good is your wireless? as you could get Wireless IP Cameras

We Ruckus at both of my schools, best move I've made . How much bandwidth would wireless cameras use?

But you would need to run a cable for normal cameras no?

 

I've looked at this - we are cancelling out £1000 pa contract for support (all they do is come around and clean the cameras! they are too slow to come out for anything else!) We can then use the 1k pa to increase coverage.
