hotwired007 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I'm building a PC, having a problem with getting a decent cooler to fit in the case, it has a Arctic 7 Rev 2 cooler with it BUT this will not fit in the case with the side panel fitted as there is a huge 22cm fan on the side panel... trying to decide on a decent ertically mounted fan that doesn't obstruct the RAM slots as the Arctic 7 covers the first ram too... any suggestions? The case is 175mm thick and the fan comes out about 30mm leaving 145mm for motherboard and fan... Processor: AMD Phenom X6 1055T Motherboard: ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 Case: INWIN "Griffin" GFX: Saphire 5770 Vapor-X
3s-gtech Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I'd seriously consider removing the side mount first, firstly! As it's a main feature though, perhaps not... A water block would obviously fit. You could also try something like Corsair CWCH50-1 Cooling Hydro Series H50.. | Ebuyer.com, you could even go for low profile and use the fan as the CPU cooler Prolimatech Samuel 17 Socket Intel 775 1156 1155 1366.. | Ebuyer.com
hotwired007 Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 have looked at the H50 quite a lt - the only bind is that the rear fan in teh case is an 80mm and the nearest 120 mount is at the front behind the HDD mounts... very tempted but it depends ojn the length of the pipes on the cooler...
hotwired007 Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 Have just been on the H50 website and looked at the FAQs... the radiator will fit easily in the area BUT will not be able to mount a fan to it... the front panel is almost completely blocked so airflow to the radiator would be naff all... been looking to see if the rad can be attached in the area for the optical drives....
