It would be a reasonable measure to implement host based firewalls on some/all of your clients/servers as part of a wider reaching defence in depth network security policy.

Implementing host based firewalls would be only a small part of your host hardening strategy though. You also need to consider anti-virus, malware and more general security concerns.
