intranet problem

GP is set to push out the url of the intranet.

 

It is applied to the students ou.

I've noticed that some of the kids that are entering the school aren't getting the intranet as there home page. intead they are sent to windows updates.

 

 

Any ideas???

oh, you sure all the DCs are talking correctly??? you need to download ultrasonic and install on the DCs, this will tell you if they are all talking... we again had the same problem where different kids were getting the old home page cos one of the DCs was playing up. Have you tried running gpupdate /force in run

how does the dc not talking to each other cause this?

 

the intranet is hosted from the PDC. the other DC only do auth and dns

Its confgured in GP and if all the DCs arent synchronising GP correctly then they will be defaulting to the default home page... We have an internal email home page set as the home page, and wondered why certain members of staff were seeing it and others werent. Then we rana a few programs downloaded from MS and found that one of the DCs was been synchronised correctly. DCpromoed it and promoted a another server and things are working great at the mo (touches wood)
