Remote Registration with SIMS Integration?

At our school, all the registrations have been moved online registration with SIMS.net. However, the obvious problem here is the PE department who don't have access to PCs during their lessons. Does anyone know of a possible remote/electronic registration system that can work on something like a tablet or iPad by either by the teacher or biometrically by the kids finger prints, but must have SIMS integration.

Yes Groupcall emerge - just been shown at Bett.

 

Looks quite good and syncs with Sims.

 

£299 for the first license then £99 per device after that each year.

 

EDIT: Been beaten to it but its the Groupcall product which capita where showing off

@Zoom7000 have you trialled this solution yet? Just we have had a similar request from our PE department now. Basically our SLT are hounding the PE department to register the kids electronically without taking a paper register first. The areas where they'd be using it don't all have a decent 3G signal but for one site in particular (our sports hall changing rooms) wifi would be a possibility.

We have been using laptops with wireless over in our PE sports hall to take the lesson registers for the past 5 years using both Sims.net client app and also through TS RDP internally.

 

Just works.

 

APs are Cisco 1430's and there are 4 to cover the whole of the sports hall they just work never had to touch them since setting them up.

I think we'll probably end up having to do this rather than use a tablet PC. Seems that the deputy head and systems manager have decided between them that tablets aren't an option. I can see what'll happen though. We'll give PE a laptop and then for the first few weeks it'll be the best thing since sliced bread and then they'll get sick of carrying it about and decide they want another solution. Grrrrr.
