All our cabling is done by us, we have tried contractor after contractor, ports marked up correctly in rooms and in patch panels nothing ever corresponded to what is was supposed to, so we got rid and do it all ourselves now.

 

Once instance we had was we were chasing cables over 8 floors to find out where and how they managed to cable up the wrong patch panel in the wrong rooms for instance FL4\B1\0/1 means Floor4 then the port marked up in the room as Box1\Port0\Port1 this in the patch panel was floor4\B3\1 - all the ones are for Wireless.

 

They said they understood the system and completely wired it wrong - twice - was a good few days at work

That depends entirely on the budget that I was given...

 

I can't really give an accurate representation of a budget given that it would be a section of the yearly budget, and how that is spent depends on size of school, amount of pcs, projectors etc etc

 

The question is easily answerable in it's current form in my opinion without a budget given, main requirement: keep costs low, we're not talking media or photoshop PCs, just the generic badly coded school software to be running on them with windows 7 32bit.

 

If a couple of people reply i'll compare against what we're pretty much already set on buying and see if there are similarities (i don't even currently know the year budget for next year hence why i can't give one )
