Anyway, FreeNAS will suffice for what we need to do so at this stage I'm binning the Ubuntu idea. Many thanks for all your help. Regards Paul That's a shame, if you ever try the Ubuntu route again, try enabling LBA support on your MoBo. Also, I'd give Debian a go, it's more stable than Ubuntu.
