tomazzotta Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Hi i am having a problem with sending an encrypted excel file via outlook 2010 the recipent is saying that they havent recieved the email... and i dont receive and email back with an error that it hasnt been delivered? if i send an email without an attachment the recipent recieves it straight away? any ideas? Thanks
Domino Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I imagine the mail server or client at the recipients end is blocking encrypted attachments - can they check the mail logs?
glennda Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Yeah sounds like its being blocked by an upstream smart host - when we send data out i have to ring atomwide (my lea's service provider) to ask them to release the email which they then do once i have said its not a virus! they get blocked because it cannot scan them
tomazzotta Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 ok so if i give my ISP a call they should be able to release this?
Domino Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 not neccesarily - check with your ISP, but it could just as easily be their end.
glennda Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Yes it could be the person/company receiving the email's isp/ or even them holding the email
