We have 9 Ruckus APs around our school. 1 was playing up, so I turned the power off and on. Now looking at the web admin screen, the status for that AP says "Connected (Mesh AP, 1 hop)". The others all say "Connected (Root AP)". See attached.

Which one should I set the APs to? Mesh/Hop or Root? I'm looking for the fastest speed for our network.

Thank you!

Root AP's have a physical network connection, mesh AP's don't, and are getting their connection from nearby AP's.

Is the cable loose?

Dom_ is spot on, could be either cable or the RJ45 port on the AP (though this would be the first i'd heard of), what model of Ruckus AP is it you are using onsite?

It means it cannot find its way back to the ZD via an Ethernet cable, the cable from to the AP may be fine! I can't see it being a fault with the AP's Ethernet port.

Please checked the entire topology from AP to ZD and you will find the disconnect somewhere if not physical then an routing issue may be in place.

Thanks
