6Foot2 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Link: Chrome for a Cause http://gyazo.com/e4f325ba0a1e37f705d37be5457fa9d2.png I use Chrome and I have signed up on my home system and will be signing up at work also. I will also be opening LOTS of tabs.
6Foot2 Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 Installed Good man! [This reply composed in a new tab]
srochford Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Probably being stupid (or overly cynical) here but *who* is actually donating anything? Web site says "Install the Chrome for a Cause extension and your web browsing will drive donations made to charities around the world." but it doesn't say who's actually giving the money or how much - it just talks about donating "tabs"
Jawloms Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Installed too, but am wondering the same as Steve!

LiamH Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 177 so far for me, went on a "google random thing and open every result in a new tab" binge. Not 100% sure how it works, with a million dollar limit I feel like its just letting people decide which of the causes their "tabs" go to. Anyone know when the "end of the day" is? i closed chrome and it didn't prompt me for my cause and cant see anything in the extension for it, Hoping they don't expect you to be on at xx:xx time of day.

I have just contributed my 250 tabs worth from yesterdays browsing to the 'One Person's Clean Water' cause. Chrome notified me that I could contribute now and I just followed where the browser led me. Very easy.
srochford Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Slightly different, but as well as giving away money to charity, Google is also giving away "Chrome" chocolate :-) They've got a big advertising thing going on at Westfield, White City and they were handing out (quite nice!) chocolate tonight.

You can keep the extension installed and, if so, it will notify you about future opportunities to work together with other Chrome users for good causes.
