So why not stay out of the thread instead of saying that the functionality the OP wants changed is actually suitable for him, he just doesn't know it yet.

I think that if you check back to my initial response, you will find that I did not use many of the words that you have quoted. I assume that means that I did not say them!

Please stop misrepresenting what I have posted in a Forum Thread!

What I type is what I mean! Nothing more and nothing less!

How you manage that? I think it's time for a red square again, it doesn't look right you having green ones! :D

I am afraid that every post that I make that is helpful is mainly ignored (Check a few of the recent ones - no thanks or, in some cases, no response). When I am a little 'controversial' I get plenty of response and then have to explain in simple English that my succinct responses do, in fact, just reflect exactly what the words say!

Now, unfortunately, I have to go. We are installing new software from a new Capita partner for Administering Extra-Curricular activiites. (Not to be confused with Alternative Curriculum that I have also been invoolved with testing and will be delivered by the SIMS Spring Update). Most SIMS users, including those here, will probably benefit from this school trialling this software for them - if they decide to use it in the future!

Good luck with that, I was at the first requirements meeting for Extra Curricular 2 years ago, I know how important that is going to turn out to be!

I will respect that wish after this one last post, being as you have requested this.

I would add that the advice that I and GREED have given re. logging a CR is good advice if you wish Capita to make changes to the SIMS Software.

Please accept my apologies for going off topic.

Okay to wrent this thread back on topic

We had the similar problem with the default HTML, it also shows various things that were unnecessary.

So one of our techs has created a word doc, and created a macro within this, which opens the HTML file, removes any lines that are unnecessary, remove the column that states the reason they're off (which was the main issue).

It then saves it to a network location as default.html (overwriting the previous), and then we can send the staff to an internal "site" http:/cover/, which loads the page. We make the lady that does the cover do this when she finishes.

Awesome, exactly why I'm looking for. Can you post it?

I would love to be able to change the background to a dark gray as well so it has better definition of the screen.

Hey... it's funny the things you discover when you go looking around for stuff...

I have attached the file..

We have mapped a drive z: to the \\server\cover share

The SIMS is exported to z:\new because it can't export it to z:\

The attached file was created in Office 2003, I'm not sure if the machine she uses is Office 2010 now though. If the exported HTM file is in the correct location IE z:\new\cv101010.htm the macro will find it, and do some funky stuff and save it back as z:\new\today.htm. The macro works out the proper name of the file using the date.

We then host this folder on the server via apache (amongst a few other internal sites), the relevant lines in the apache conf file are

   DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.php default.html default.htm default.php today.htm

DocumentRoot "W:\www\80\ict\resource\cover\new"
ServerName cover

The folder w:\www\80\ict\resource\cover is shared out via SMB as "Cover"

We also redirect the name COVER in DNS to the server IP.

I don't know how to do all that in IIS.

today.doc

That's the sort of thing I was thinking of, except if the processing could be done in vbscript then the user would have to do nothing more than export to HTML as usual.

Hope it does the trick for you zag
