SimpleSi Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Just before going to bed I needed to finish off setting up a laptop by installing Office 2007. Ran setup - entered the key - went off to watch end of X factor - came back to find that it can't find an msi file!!! (The file exists and is sitting in a sub-folder but the install says its not there!) Tried copying all the files to a folder on the C Drive and started again - same result. Just what's needed on a Sunday night! If there a generic problem with Office 2007 and Win7 or have I just been lucky regards Simon
strawberry Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 if i had to guess i'd say itwas a corrupt download or a scratched cd.
EduTech Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I would have to agree with Strawberry to be honest, I have installed Office 2007 in the past on Windows 7 although now it is generally just 2010 but i have never had any issues with it, if i have it has been down to a bad ISO / EXE download or/ Disc has been scratched to death. Re-Download and try again. James.
glennda Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 same as what the above have said - although very nice and convenient thats all the vl stuff is download it can be a right pain in the backside when you need to do stuff in a rush and cant because of dodgy downloads!
strawberry Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 also, if you can, try 2010, looks shiney and fun!
SimpleSi Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 This morning I dug out my CD Master and it installed fine I'll re-copy the files back onto by portable drive again and see what happens the next time. Simon
