gibbo_ap Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 have any of you experienced problems with GIMP, more specifically after installing across the nw the antivirus is saying it has found two threats??? very worrying
TwoZeroAlpha Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 any details on what specific threat it was? Virus name etc? I take it you fully scanned before packaging? I've got gimp2.6 install network-wide and no issues here. 1
pete Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Upload the suspicious files to virustotal.com to get a second opinion. Oh, and if it's eSafe AV, it's probably wrong (significant proportion of false positives). 1
dwhyte85 Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Be careful where you download from, I think that's a good point too. It's easy to pack/stuff/bind exes. 1
gibbo_ap Posted December 9, 2010 Author Posted December 9, 2010 the location was C:\Windows\Installer\{9E6FFD02-464B-4F46-ACEE-41FEC445724C}\VSWEACC_9E6FFD02.exe this is all i could get my hands of from the event viewer
TwoZeroAlpha Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Have you got WSUS on gibbo_ap? I've seen one or two of these pop up and nothing do do with any package deployment as I hadn't pushed anything out in weeks. Thought maybe something in a MS update the AV doesn't like?
