featured_spectre Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 I have just put a 2TB drive in my xbox, and it works like a charm! Basically used acronis and a HDD caddy, duplicated my original HDD, onto my new one, put the new one in, and POW....2TB of space on my xbox!
dalsoth Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Dont really use my xbox much. Why the need for the large drive? Any benefits to me doing this too? Just more room to copy the games locally to stop using the disks?
featured_spectre Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 I have installed about 20 games to the HDD...I prefer to run from HDD simply for the fact its faster to do than run from disk.

mac_shinobi Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 The xbox have a 3.5 or 2.5" bay ?? Was just thinking either a WD Raptor , WD Black 2tb Drive or a solid state drive ?? Depending on cost and how much storage you want and also the bay size on the xbox I've got a PS3 so never had an xbox aside from the original one but that was a long long time ago

featured_spectre Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 Xbox has a 2.5in bay, but you need to buy the case housing for it to fit or it will POP straight back out. Microsoft have said they won't ban people for this, but will void warranties on all that do it. I don't mind that though as the warranty is only a year.

Just did a quick google and as far as MS say you can be banned for using unofficial kit on the xbox and they know the models of all official drives (they are a unique model number which was only given for xbox)
