Laptop trolley recommendations?

I know very little about laptop trolleys as I've managed to avoid letting pupils use laptops, but the times, they are a-changin' and it looks like we might be going down this route soon.

 

I will be looking at having 30 laptops (make/model unknown currently) that will need somewhere secure to store and charge them. Any suggestions on products to avoid and products that work really well? Any pitfalls or recommendations?

I don't have one to recommend but i have one to stay away from (IMO) we had one of the "LapCabby" range.. an i know another local school had 3, the wheels fell off several times... the engineer blamed our floor for not being flat enough.... another said the laptops were to heavy?? even though we had less laptops in it than the amount the unit is meant to carry??

We have had 3 lapcabby's and they have been great for us, we have had an issue of a teacher breaking one of the rear doors, called labcabby and got sent the side panel to fix the door without charge, maybe we have been lucky so far.

I too have had no issues with the Lapcabby's that i have provided. Great product as far as i'm concerned.

Hello Mate, Like Lapsafe's myself, good solid trolleys, not cheap, but they last and the cable management is good! Even better if you go for the builtin chargers, just get a small fly lead then, very tidy and you know i like tidy!!! Hope you're keeping well

Hi folks, hope this is not too much of a hijack... but looking to invest in a laptop trolley for a new building which finally has a lift meaning all classrooms can have access to a trolley...

 

But what type...

 

Is there one where laptops dock into, so not charge cables? Is it worth the extra costs, I would assume they are more... Or better to go with reliable laptops we use and know and but a seperate trolley?

 

Does anyone have an experience of ease of getting these things into lifts?

Not calculated the weight of ours, but with only 20 smallish Dells and a box of chargers our Lap Safes are chuffing heavy. If the lift is only a 2/3 person jobbie, it may not take the load.

 

Out Lapsafes seem to hold up well. Very helpful when we needed to change charging leads with the switch to Dell.

I'm another advocate of LapSafe... awesome build quality. We have a 30-unit trolley and as great as it is, I wish I had got two 15-unit ones.

 

It's not that the 30-unit trolley is excessively heavy or anything but havin the ability to share the laptops between two classes more easily would have been better.

We have 15+ Lapsafes with either 15 or 20 Dell laptops in each. They are sturdy bits of kit and no bother moving in and out of the lift. They did take 4 blokes to carry to the top floor when they were empty though.
