How do I install a 2008r2 RDS External Connector Licence?

I've just bought a RDS External Connector License for a 2008r2 box. All the RDS roles are installed and configured but I can't figure out how to install the External Connector license.

 

RD Licensing Manager reports that the total number of RDS CALs available is 'Unlimited'. However, RDS Session Host Configuration is in 'Per User' licensing mode and reports that....

 

"The Remote Desktop Session Host server is in Per User licensing mode, but license server does not have any Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 Per User CALs installed."

 

I'm sure I read somewhere that by not installing any RDS CALs, the server is automatically configured for unlimited RDS clients (as per the report in RD Licensing Manager above) but something obviously isn't right somewhere.

 

Can anyone please advise on how to resolve this?
