One of the pupils is having a chat with our careers advisor about what he wants to do when he leaves school, and as the normal meeting room is in use, they are using the ICT Suite because it isn't in use (my office is just off it with the door open unless I'm not to be disturbed - not that that works .. lol).

So, anyway, he's busy chatting about what he wants to do and he wants to be a radio presenter like Danny B on Rock FM and (I quote) "I want to learn more about computers and how they work so I can be a IT Technician like my mate Andy" .. I feel like my work here is done! lol .. so sweet to have a kid aspire to be you ..

Thing is, do I tell him about all the hassle you get from staff or leave his hopes and aspirations in tact? lol ..

A pupil did come to me once for advice on becoming an IT Technician, and after 5-10 secs of trying to work out out if he was winding me up I gave him some advice on where to gain experience.

(Also avoided laughing and saying really? are you sure? a lot as well)

Don't laugh but people who aspire to do what you do means you have done something good in life.

My younger bro (now 12) wrote in his leaving book for yr 6 that he wants to be a school technician like his brother (ME!!)

Or and we also had a year 11 who just left, although had cerebal pausey (sp) wanted to go to College to then come back and take one of our jobs as he would be better than us!

that I realise which is why it's a nice thing .. it's just a shame sometimes that you have the issues they don't see and you kinda think .. well that's nice, but really, there are better things you could do .. :)
