riverphoenix12 Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Hi Seem to be still having a lot of issues with 2010 and cannot resolve. It configures every time for every user. Have tried a clean install, new package, machine rebuild, adjusting permissions on registry keys, install from CD and also locating licensing service in school. No joy and it is causing massive issues. (It is even configuring for administrators) We seem to have got it down to the Office Software Protection Service which is just not starting - something is stopping it. This is being flagged in the event viewer. ""The software protection service failed to start. 0x80070005" Office Software Protection Platform Service" (Error code: 1001). We are now scratching our heads on this one. Any help would be massively apreciated. Attached screenshot: The event log error and the office configuration screen which appears. Anyone out there who can help? Many thanks.
bandgeekmafia78 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Hi. I had the same problem. Managed to resolve it by configuring the Office Software Protection Platform Service in group policy - I set it to automatic startup and gave everyone full permission. This seemed to have solved it for me.
