It's just a shame that the possibility of remote working is nullified by management that insists on seeing physical bodies. Imagine how much traffic, pollution and waste could be eliminated if there was a push by govt and companies to work remotely.

Many of us do this already. In fact, one of the only reasons EduGeek has an office is that we need a place to put 'stuff'. That and I don't have a spare room at home because I have 2 children!

One of my favourite Clarke predictions is that we will have "Space Elevators" 50 years after people stop laughing at the idea. There has been a conference recently, hosted by M$ at Redmond, exploring the topic. Unfortunately, the prize for developing the super strong cable hasn't been won. They are only achieving 10% or so of the strengths required.
