Find My iPhone or iPad - Now Free

If you update to 4.2 you can find your iPhone for free should you loose it.

 

It will allow you to

• View the location on a map
  
• Send messages to the phone
  
• Force the phone to make a alert sound even if its on silent
  
• Erase the phone remotely
  

Its free for iPhone 4 users

 

Enable Find My iPhone for Free on iPhone 3GS

This was a feature I was really looking forward to with the 4.2 update but it only works with iPhone 4, iPad, or 4th generation iPod touch!!!

I've stuck it on my iPad and it's looking good. The fact that you can send messages to the device and also wipe it is very good.
