(Solved) Smartboard won't run for certain users

We have a 72" Smartboard in our hall running from a Unify35 projector linked to a notebook with the latest update of Smartboard software.

This XP Pro notebook is patched up to date, is not on the school network has Internet connection and has three user accounts all with Admin permissions.

All three accounts have until recently been able to run the Smartboard but this week two accounts have not been able to get the Smartboard to function - projector switches on ok and gives option to select device (Computer 1) but after selecting this a message comes up 'Make sure the device is connected properly or select another input message'. At this stage if I log off that account and log on my account everything works fine and dandy. Any ideas please:confused:

HI

I have had this exact issue but I have had it where notebook has been upgraded and then they cannot open notebook until an administrator opens it up. The silly program asks you to click do you agree to the terms and conditions and once you click ok it works. But users dont get asked the question and the program crashes. Have you updated the driver there is a new version out a few weeks ago.

I'd agree there - that's not a SMART error, it's a projector only message that states your signal is either not getting out of the laptop to the projector, or the signal is in a form incompatible with the projector (refresh rate/resolution etc). Check the settings for the other users, and maybe try the hotkey to enable the external display port?

Thanks for the replies folks. I set up another user account and that worked fine. Trying the 2 other accounts again brought up the same error. Your offering SGreen679 set me to looking at the graphic settings and there it was the accounts that were playing up had somehow decided to pick up the Thinkpad profile for the screen rather than the Intel one. Changing it back again now has all users ok with the display.
