I am currently working on an article for my schools website and would like to make the page full width. It's probably best if I link to the unfinished page... Prenton High School for Girls

As you can see the left side has a blank where a menu should go.

Can I set somewhere in joomla that I want the page to be full width?

I have had a look through but can't find anything. :(

thanks

Hi,

It will be down to your CSS for the template but as I am on my iPhone, I can't check. If no one else has replied by the time I get home, I'll have a look.

In the sites "position.css" file, line 64 reads "margin:0 0 0 21%;"

This pushes the main content to the right (by 21% of the entire width). If you change this to "margin: 0", this will get rid of the empty column.

Thanks for that, it's not quite what I meant! But it is useful for some future plans I have.

I wondered when I asked if it was possible to hide the blank column just for one page.

I don't think this is possible though.

Don't know anything about Joomla specifically, just CSS in general, but for that one page you could use an extra div wrapper and set a negative left margin in that.

I.E.: add an extra div around all the content on that page; add style="margin-left: -25%" should (IIRC) work. May also need to explicitly set width to be 125% as well, otherwise it might just shift the content left and give you a blank column on the right.

Of course, I could be completely wrong here :) but it will only take you a moment to test it out.
