FN-GM Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Hi, Just wondering how much on adverage its costs to print a colour page on a laser printer and a mono page on a mono printer? What do you charge? Thanks
glennda Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 It varies so much between printers - we have some mono printers which cost 15p (free from tesco's!) but some that cost 5p (photocopiers are about half a penny) and we have some colours the print for 5p and some that print for 25p!
tommej Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 The printware website has a nice cost per page feature for every printer they sell.
FN-GM Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Im just looking for adverages really. Out main printers are HP 4650, 2600, 1320 & 2300. Thanks allot
Gatt Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Using Papercut here now to great effect We charge 3p for a b&W print and 30p for a colour print. Papercut also gives you a report showing you what percentage of a tree a user / group / account has used! and a total for the entire school
IrritableTech Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 We've averaged ours out over all printers. 3p for mono, 10p for colour. This pretty much covers all our printer costs (paper, toner and maintenance / replacement), but our Art colour laser does run at a bit of a loss due to the higher percentage cover.
Fatmas Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Our Kyocera's are under 1p a sheet (Cost of cartridge / Yield ). The HP's can be anything from 0.7p for compatible toner, 1p for black high yield upto 4p a sheer for colour. The few Epson inkjets (ERGH) teachers have are from 4p a sheet for black, ~6p for colour. We charge: 2p per sheet for Black and white laser printing. 4p per sheet for Colour laser printing. Although the charges are arbitrary amounts and we do increase their credit for coursework etc... We use PCounter here.

Edu-IT Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 We're running at 3p for mono and 9p for colour on our Samsung fleet.
maark Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 2p b/w 8p colour about covers all costs but staff/students get some free credits initially
localzuk Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Not including paper, our costs vary from 0.33p per mono page to 2p per mono (depending on the printer) and from 3.9p per colour to 12p per sheet (10% coverage). The cheapest ones are obviously the large copiers that we have (the mono one does 600k+ sheets a year, the colour does 25k or so I think).
