Off The IT Topic But Why Hasn't Anyone Done This Already [In The UK]

Apologies for the free plug for Replenish but can anyone identify something similar to this in the UK?

Link: Replenish - Rethink the Bottle

It just seems so senseless to buy water in the bottle when this sort of product can help save the environment.

Correct spelling mistake.

It is an excellent idea but like many choices I guess it comes down to cost. Their bottles are $7.99 and refills $3.99 which is pretty steep compared to the current products and many people are limited by income.

Looks very much like a Dragon's Den idea :)

There was something similar on there well a empty water bottle u could crush and fit in your pocket and refil but it was more expensive than a bottle of water so they said no lol

I remember the idea on there where you essentially had a sponge in the bottom of the bottle that ensured you got every drop out... bit rubbish really...

Looks very much like a Dragons Den Idea that would not get investment due to cost of the item. Also people in this age of Austerity would not pay te money for it. An example is milk in a bag, you buy the fridge tub and the top it up with milk from a bag, the downside is that it's still cheaper to buy milk in an ordinary plastic bottle. Just a gimmick really.

Re: The milk jug idea we had that milk jug at home but it was awful. It used to spill milk all over the place. Back to the ordinary cardboard cartons again now.

What was the matter with deposit back bottles - very green, low resource cost and with the added incentive that kids will go and round up all the empties for the money

Still get them in Scotland (and wherver Barrs sells their 750ml glass bottles)

Irn-bru, tizer, etc etc.. 30p a bottle these days, and when the bottles themselves only cost £1, thats 70p for 750ml.. cheaper than a can of coke!

(also south australia do it here, only in that state tho, and its only 5c.. but agree its a great idea!)

A waste of money as far as I am concerned! :der:

What is so hard about re-using the original bottle you buy, just add the cleaner when it is empty instead of purchasing a new bottle. Vinegar and other natural substances work just as well as chemicals. It is not something I would be interested in purchasing as I think it is a waste of time and money like air freshner, just open the flippin' window!
