rad Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Tomorrow is the first day of cashless catering. I (as tech) have been registering thumb impressions, training to till staff is done but as the support from others has been slim not all students were registered in time as parents are poor to respond to letters. Anyway, if I am still here this time tomorrow, I have survived! So wish me luck and no more!
GREED Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Hope all goes well Rad, am sure it will all be fine!
laserblazer Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I hope the fingerprint recognition is better that Microlibrarian! Have some wetwipes ready to clean sticky fingers. I'm sure it will be fine.
rh91uk Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Good luck rad - we did this a month or so ago. What system you using?
rad Posted October 31, 2010 Author Posted October 31, 2010 Cheers guys and gals, we are using NRS - Nationwide Retail System (I think) Having come from a retail background I have done a fair few "live days" before opening new stores, but these accepted cash, tomorrow we wont!
FN-GM Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 My old school was the first in the country to use it. They used the NRS. It works well. The only fault i can give it is the software is a swine to install on the workstations.
rad Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 It went well, was more of an issue inserting scrunched up notes into the refal units. I spent the day down there with kids giving me ear ache. Chilling tonight now ready for day 2 tomorrow
NikChillin Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 We have just had to load up 1000 individual pix onto ours as tha suppliers couldn't do it on a native SQL admin server! GRRRR
LiamH Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 All set up by an external company for us, but the biometrics are used for 6th form registration, cashless catering and the library now. Can never pick up my prints... would make a good thief I guess
